At Friday night pre-qualifying for the Johnny McEvoy Gold Dart Classic, Egan won through to qualify for the main tournament on Sunday. David Concannon was unfortunate though, losing out 4-3 in his board final after leading 3-1. In the main tournament on Sunday, Egan never settled and lost out 3-2 in sets in the first round. PDC Pro Terry "The Bull" Jenkins ran out winner, defeating another PDC Pro Andy Jenkins 3-0 in the final. Also on Sunday, the Johnny McEvoy Bronze Dart Youths Open took place. Mark Finneran, Gary and David Concannon all took part. Mark Finneran performed best on the day, defeating David on his way to the semi-final, where he lost out to Kilkenny's Paddy Meaney. Meaney went on to win the final 3-0 against Shane Nolan. On the Saturday, all four players took part in a field of nearly 300 for the Gleneagles Irish Masters. All performed well, with Gary and David Concannon getting to their board semi finals, and Mark Finneran unfortunate in losing out 4-3 to PDC Pro Brendan Dolan from Fermanagh in his board final. Mick Egan performed best on the day, defeating PDC Pro Steve Maish on his way to winning his board final. After another victory against Dublin's Joe Byrne in the last 32, his run came to and end at the last 16 stage, losing out 4-3 to PDC Pro Wes Newton. Egan had shots to win the match, but his finishing let him down for the first time, having had checkouts of 113, 120, 135, 146 and 154 over the course of the competition. PDC Pro Michael Van Gerwen defeated another PDC Pro Kevin McDine 6-5 in the final.
